Go Time For Ros Casares

The moment of truth is about to arrive for Ros Casares.

The dominant side in Spain for several years, the Valencia club now has its best chance to capture a first crown on the continent as hosts of the EuroLeague Women Final Four.

13. Amaya Valdemoro (Ros Casares)

Ros Casares will take on Wisla Can-Pack Krakow on Friday (video preview) and should they win at La Fonteta, a glitzy showdown with UMMC Ekaterinburg or Spartak Moscow Region would await them two days later.

"I hope the Fonteta will be filled this weekend because that would allow us to play at our highest level, with more confidence," Ros Casares coach Isma Canto said.

One reason why the Spanish outfit has been successful this season has been its ability to force opponents to play an up-tempo game.

Ros Casares will not want to play a slow-it-down, half-court game against any team this weekend.

"In the Final Four, you have to defend at a very high level and run more than anyone else because otherwise, we will have no option," Canto said.

"That has been our path this season, the weapon that we hope will allow us to achieve our aims."

What has been particularly impressive about Ros Casares this year has been their ability to overcome injuries.

Amaya Valdemoro and Elisa Aguilar, two of the Spain internationals in the squad, have had various knocks and missed games but the club has continued to win.

They are now fit, and most of the Ros players have shown in recent Liga Femenina games that they are in good form.

12. Agnieszka Bibrzycka (UMMC Ekaterinburg)

"The majority of the players of the team are arriving in their best moment of the season to the Final Four and that is enough to compete having some guarantees," Canto said.

By the time the fans watch the Ros Casares game, they will have already witnessed a game featuring some of the best players in the world (watch video preview here).

UMMC Ekaterinburg and three-time defeating EuroLeague Women champions Spartak Moscow Region are loaded with star players and they play in Friday's first Semi-Final.

"The two Russian teams have dominated the competition in recent seasons and their rosters are like two national teams," Canto said.

"That semi-final will also be of a very high level.

"It´s true that we have beaten both Russian sides in Valencia in the last two seasons but that means nothing."
