Hejkova Delighted With Spartak Display

Spartak Moscow Region coach Natalia Hejkova was delighted with her side's 84-62 win over Kosit 2013, and says it was all the more memorable for being in her homeland.

The Slovak-born coach saw her side cruise to a victory which makes them almost certain to qualify from Group C of the EuroLeague Women.

Hejkova said: "My players knew I was at home after a long time so they played for me.

"The fans saw an interesting game so I hope they had a good time today.

"Both teams played well so we saw quality basketball, it was a great advert for basketball today."

Kosice coach Vladimir Karnay said: "We saw a number of the best basketball players in the world in the Spartak team.

"We tried to do something against them but our fans have to decide if we were successful. I believe they were satisfied with this game."

Diana Taurus, who scored 15 points for the Russians, said: "We knew about the qualities of the home team.

"I think we played a good game today. It was a great atmosphere in front of so many people"
