Spartak Moscow Region coach Natalia Hejkova was delighted with her side's 84-62 win over Kosit 2013, and says it was all the more memorable for being in her homeland.
The Slovak-born coach saw her side cruise to a victory which makes them almost certain to qualify from Group C of the EuroLeague Women.
Hejkova said: "My players knew I was at home after a long time so they played for me.
"The fans saw an interesting game so I hope they had a good time today.
"Both teams played well so we saw quality basketball, it was a great advert for basketball today."
Kosice coach Vladimir Karnay said: "We saw a number of the best basketball players in the world in the Spartak team.
"We tried to do something against them but our fans have to decide if we were successful. I believe they were satisfied with this game."
Diana Taurus, who scored 15 points for the Russians, said: "We knew about the qualities of the home team.
"I think we played a good game today. It was a great atmosphere in front of so many people"
The attendance of over 7000 set a new record for the competition.
Ivana Jalcova of Kosice added: "I am happy we played this game in such a great atmosphere.
"We showed what we could do tonight."
