Wisla Can-Pack Krakow Clinch Third Win On The Trot

Wisla Can-Pack Krakow were the last team to make it into the EuroLeague Women but it's unlikely they'll be among the first out.

The Polish club, which took the now defunct CSKA Moscow's place in the competition shortly before the start of the campaign, won for the third time in as many Group B games on Wednesday night with a 77-71 triumph at ESB Lille Metropole.

Poland center Ewelina Kobryn, who scored a game-high 24 points, poured in seven of them in a 14-0 second-quarter run in which Wisla turned a 28-20 deficit into a 34-28 lead.

They stayed in front for the remainder of the contest.

The French team did stay within striking distance, however.

After falling behind 61-50 early in the fourth quarter, they fought back and managed to close the deficit to just four points on three occasions.

Wisla held on, though, for their second road triumph after opening the campaign with a victory at coach Jose Hernández's former team, Halcon Avenida.

The Polish outfit got big points contributions from Janell Burse (15), Marta Fernandez (12) and Liron Cohen (11) while Kobryn and Burse grabbed 10 rebounds apiece.

Elodie Bertal led ESB with 15 points.

Jolene Anderson had 10 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for Abdou N'Diaye's side.
