PLAYER HISTORY
Emilie Gomis

Career: Evreux (France-NF2, 1995-98, INSEP (France-NF1, 1998-2001), Tarbes (France-LFB, 2001-03), Villeneuve-d'Ascq (France-LFB, 2003-06), Valenciennes (France-LFB, 2006-07)

Gomis is one of the best one-on-one players in Europe and given space or on a fast break, she is nearly unstoppable. In the half court offense she is one of the few weapons France has and was the team’s leading scorer at the 2006 World Championship in what was her first real opportunity to show what she could do with the National Team. She has a tremendous first step, great overall speed and a real nose for the basket, even if she still needs to work on her left hand.  She can also shoot threes with consistency even though she struggled with her shot this year in Valenciennes. She raised her level and was a major part of her club’s successes in the French Cup and playoffs.
