Numerous questions remain unanswered in the German Basketball Bundesliga with six games left in the regular season.
Alba Berlin and Bamberg are matching each other step for step at the top while EuroCup quarter-finalists RheinEnergie Koln are almost sure of their place in the play-offs.
But the rest are all involved in several issues as the season nears its conclusion.
No fewer than seven sides can still be relegated while at least three of those sides may yet have a say in who contends in the end of season play-offs.
And this weekend's results shed no further light on who exactly will end the season inside the top eight.
Koln's 70-58 win at the Giessen 46ers leaves Sasa Obradovic's side leading the chase behind Bamberg and Berlin (108-96 winners in Trier), the only two sides mathematically secure of their place in the play-offs.
Koln were outstanding in the EuroCup this season and almost reached the Final Four.
Level on points with Koln are Bundesliga newcomers Eisbaren Bremerhaven, who defeated the Artland Dragons 68-61 to move even closer to a maiden play-off appearance.
Defeat for the Dragons saw them drop out of the top eight at the expense of Telekom Baskets Bonn, who were 68-65 winners over Walter Tigers Tubingen and defend a 26-24 points record as opposed to Artland's 24-26.
Meanwhile, EWE Baskets Oldenburg, who lost 78-75 to the Bayer Giants Leverkusen, and EnBW Ludwigsburg, 90-87 winners over Karlsruhe, occupy the other two top eight places.
At the bottom, the focus of attention this weekend was on Braunschweig, who claimed a vital win to boost their slim chances of survival against the Deutsche Bank Skyliners (81-76).
The Skyliners slip to 14th, level on points with Karlsruhe, who lost to Ludwigsburg, and sellbytelbaskets Nurnberg, who were not in action.
Just above the bottom four, the Giessen 46ers remain in danger after their defeat to Koln and the Walter Tigers are stuck between play-off dreams and relegation nightmares.
The next round of fixtures could confuse the issue even further with the Skyliners meeting Giessen and sellbytel at home to the Artland Dragons.
At the top, Bamberg are expected to continue their quest for top spot against Karlsruhe while ALBA face Bonn and Koln entertain Ludwigsburg.
With so much still at stake, the Bundesliga is certainly not heading for a boring conclusion this year.
