Serbo-Montenegrins March On

Serbia and Montenegro continue to prosper at the Ostchem U20 European Championship - even without star center Tadija Dragicevic.

Dragicevic has yet to play in Izmir due to a leg injury sustained at the Global Games in Dallas last month but his country have still recorded wins from their opening two games, the second of which came Saturday with an 81-57 Group A defeat of Belarus.

Milenko Tepic stepped up in Dragicevic's absence, pouring in 24 points and pulling down eight rebounds in 35 minutes on court.

Belarus led 22-21 with 8:25 to go in the first half after a lay-up by Mikita Meshcharakou, but the wheels then came off with Serbia & Montenegro outscoring them 24-5 the rest of the quarter.

Miroslav Nikolic's men were in command the rest of the way.

Nikola Pekovic contributed 11 points and Nenad Mijatovic 10 as Belarus were comprehensively outplayed.

Only one Belarus player managed to reach double figures, Artsiom Parakhouski who had 14.
