Poland and Serbia & Montenegro advanced as the first- and second-place teams from Group B at the Termosteps U16 European Championship Women.

The latter had to win their game against Hungary on Sunday and did so in style, prevailing 57-42 behind Jovna Popovic's 21 points.

They trailed 27-25 at half-time but outscored the Hungarians 20-4 in the third quarter to take command.

The Poles lost for the first time, losing to hosts Slovakia, but still progressed as top side from the group after their previous success.

The Slovakians treated a partisan crowd to a 69-56 win as both Kornelia Laszloova andVeronika Cernakova scored 13 points.
