PONDEXTER CLINCHES RETURN TO FENER Fenerbahce have confirmed the signing of Cappie Pondexter for the remainder of the season. The USA international, who began the campaign with UMMC Ekaterinburg but was only contracted to the Russian club through 20 December, has rejoined Fener - the Istanbul outfit she played for in the 2006-07 and 2007-08 campaigns when she was a EuroLeague Women All-Star. The plan is for Pondexter to play for Fener only in their Turkish league games, however, and not in the EuroLeague Women. In Europe, Fenerbahce top Group B with eight wins in as many games.
NEMETH BACK AT SOPRON UNIQA Euroleasing Sopron have bolstered their backcourt with point guard Bernadett Németh. A three-time champion with Sopron in both the domestic league and the cup, Németh returns to the team from fellow EuroLeague Women outfit Good Angels Kosice in Slovakia. In December, Sopron allowed Tijana Krivacevic to join Rivas Ecopolis for the remainder of the campaign to ease the financial strain on the club. Krivacevic is still under contract with Sopron for next year. In the EuroLeague Women, Sopron are fifth in Group B with a 3-6 record. |
