UMMC Ekaterinburg moved back to the top of the EuroLeague Women Group C table - for a few hours at least - following their 79-66 victory over hapless Lotos Gdynia.

It was a seventh successive loss for the Polish team, while Russian outfit UMMC take their record to 5-2 in the competition.

Lotos took an early lead through Monika Veselovski's three-pointer, but the hosts quickly recovered and a 10-point run without reply helped them establish a 20-15 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Polish visitors then managed to close within two points of UMMC at the start of the second, but contributions from Elena Karpova and Suzy Batkovic paved the way for the Russians to stretch their advantage to 39-28 at half-time.

And they never looked back for the rest of the game, as another 10-0 run in the final period saw them to victory.

Karpova top-scored with 19 points, while Cheryl Ford also poured in 15 points and hauled down 13 rebounds for the winners.

Ewelina Kobryn was Lotos' best performer with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
