The captain of the national team and by far the most experienced player on the roster, Blums will bring some much-needed veteran leadership to an otherwise relatively young locker room. Having made his senior international debut in 2005, the 33-year-old guard has been perhaps the most consistent contributor for Latvia in international tournaments over the last decade. A knock-down shooter with unlimited range, he has played both guard positions throughout his career, but ultimately prefers playing off the ball and coming off screens - despite possessing decent ball-handling skills. After being brought in as an injury replacement by Panathinaikos, Blums managed to secure a roster spot until the end of the season and served as a valuable role player for the Greens, winning the Greek Cup with the powerhouse club. Given his age, EuroBasket 2015 could very well be the last major tournament.
