Rehshawn Terry helped fire Khimik to an 81-67 Group D triumph over BK Ventspils on day one of the EuroChallenge Regular Season.

Playing at home in Yuzhny, Khimik broke open a close game early in the second half and coasted to a victory.

Terry had 18 points and 11 rebounds for Khimik, with teammates Aaron McGhee (16), Predrag Miletic (13) and Oleksandr Prokopenko (11) also hitting double digits in points.

The result avenged the two-game sweep the Ukraine outfit suffered at the hands of Latvians Ventspils last year in the EuroChallenge Regular Season.

Trailing 27-26 midway through the second quarter on Tuesday, Khimik reeled off six straight points - four by Terry - to take the lead for good.

They went to half-time on top, 42-34, and then lowered the boom in the third quarter with a 7-0 spurt for a 54-38 stranglehold.

Darrel Mitchell had four points and Prokopenko a three-ball in that surge.

By the end of the frame, the lead was 18 points and Terry's three-pointer with 7:35 to play extended the advantage to 73-52.

There was no way back for Ventspils, who got 15 points from Janis Strelnieks.

Sasa Vasiljevic had eight of the winners' 21 assists to go with his two points.
