| 13.12.2011 EUROCHALLENGE Khimik Yuzhny signed off from their EuroChallenge campaign with a convincing victory over Hungarians Atomerömü SE. In a contest between two sides that had no chances of reaching the Last 16, Khimik prevailed 83-58. The Ukrainian team sealed a third-place finish in Group D with three wins and three defeats and Atomerömü (1-5) ended up in fourth. Atomerömü scored the game's first two points with 17 seconds gone but then allowed Khimik to go on a 23-0 run. The visitors didn't add to their total until 2:55 remained in the frame when Gergely Körtélyesi connected from behind the arc to make it 23-5. Khimik had a 25-10 lead by the end of the first period and stretched the advantage to 22 late in the second quarter. The winning team's Sergiy Popov had 15 points to lead his side in scoring. Donald Cole had a game-high 17 points in defeat. |
