Khimik Yuzhny won a 95-90 overtime thriller at home against Dexia Mons-Hainaut on Tuesday.
On the opening day of the EuroChallenge Regular Season, Jarrius Jackson of Khimik tied the game at 80-80 with a lay-up 35 seconds from the end of regulation.
With just three seconds remaining, Dexia's Julian Sensley uncorked an effort from long range but was off target and then Wykeen Kelly missed with a three attempt at the buzzer for Khimik.
Once in the extra period, Sensley twice gave Dexia the lead.
His three-pointer put them in front at 83-82 and he also made one of two at the stripe for an 84-83 lead with 2:49 to go.
Jackson took over for Khimik.
He came up with a steal and scored on a lay-up to put Khimik in front for good. Jackson scored the next six points as well for an 89-84 lead although Dexia pushed the home side until the very end.
A Kelvin Torbert basket for Dexia reduced the arrears to 92-90 with 13 seconds remaining.
Dexia immediately fouled Sasa Bratic, who made the first but missed the second.
Kelly was there for the offensive rebound, though, and the visitors fouled him, allowing him to add two more from the line for a five-point triumph.
Marton Bader had 18 points and Kelly 17 for Khimik, while Torbert had a game-high 26 to lead Dexia with Caleb Green also pouring in 19.
