Perhaps one of the most underrated players on the Finnish roster, Petri Virtanen is a long-serving member of the National Team who was one of the main catalysts in his country achieving promotion from the old Division B format a few years ago. Since then he has continued to remain an effective and key member of the rotation, bringing a real three-point threat when he is on the floor. Even with a hand in his face, he won't be deterred. In addition to his skills from downtown, he is also a good free-throw shooter and has the ability to handle the ball and make incisive passes also. He is a former EuroCup All Star player and with the exception of one season in Sweden and another in Estonia, he has spent most of his professional career in his own country as one of the premier players in Korisliiga. He didn't shoot the ball as well as he can last summer, despite being red-hot in the warm-up games and this year will probably be utilised to give time for other key-players to rest during the game.
