The plot thickened in the EuroCup on Thursday when Czech champions Nymburk fought back from a 12-point deficit to stun Group I leaders Fenerbahce.
In the Round II's 'Group of Death', which features three of the four teams that took part in last season's FIBA Europe League Final Four, Nymburk improved their record to two wins and two defeats with the 88-72 triumph to stay firmly in the hunt for a place in the quarter-finals.
Lithuanian veteran Gintaras Einikis had 22 points to lead the way for the Czechs.
"There are three important points which decided our win today," said Nymburk coach Michal Jezdik on www.basket.idnes.cz.
"We began to play better on defence and we stopped Fenerbahce with a zone.
We increased our percentage on three-point shooting and we showed more heart than our opponents."
There is still much to do before Nymburk can reach the last eight.
Jezdik said: "We have played four very hard games in the last two weeks - Brno, Kyiv, Prostejov and Fenerbahce - but you can see we are strong enough physically.
"We have two wins in the EuroCup now and we will fight until the end, despite the fact that we will finish our group with away games in St Petersburg and Kiev."
Dynamo St Petersburg won the FIBA Europe League last season and beat Kyiv in the final.
Fener coach Aydin Ors was a frustrated boss after his side's defeat.
His team had won their previous three games in Round II but they came unstuck in this one.
"I am very disappointed," he said. "We could have been in the next round with a fourth win in a row. We were able to do nothing against a good zone defense of Nymburk and we did not stop their excellent shooting.
"We played without heart in the end as well."
