Adam Hess buried a three-pointer at the buzzer as CEZ Nymburk kept their dreams of reaching the final eight of the EuroCup alive with a thrilling come-from-behind 87-84 victory against BC Kyiv on Tuesday.

Hess's long bomb completed a 23-4 run over the final 4:30 as the Czech side notched their first win in three games in Group I.

Kyiv have now lost two straight after beating the defending champions Dynamo St Petersburg in the first game of the group.

Radoslav Rancik (CEZ Nymburk)

Hess led all scorers with 23 points while Radoslav Rancik chipped in 19 points - 11 in the fourth - and Maurice Whitfield collected 11 points and 10 assists.

Goran Nikolic's 18 points paced the Ukrainians, who had five players score in double figures.

Kyiv opened with a 7-0 lead on the road and were up 19-11 midway through the first. But Hess drained three-pointers on three straight trips down the court to give Nymburk a 24-21 lead.

Kyiv led 29-28 after 10 minutes but couldn't handle Hess, who scored 16 points in the first period.

Hess went scoreless in the second and Kyiv led 46-42 going into the locker room.

The Ukrainians proved too strong in the third as three-pointers by Dragan Lukovski and Guilherme Giovannoni and LaMarr Greer pushed the lead to 69-55 with just over two minutes in the third. Charles Mandic's three-pointer made it 69-58 going into the final period.

Two Nikolic free throws made the lead 16 points, 76-60 with seven minutes left. And Kresimir Loncar's jumper with 4:30 remaining gave Kyiv an 80-64 lead.

But Loncar was called for an unsportsmanlike foul and Rancik hit two free throws and then a three-pointer on the ensuing possession to shift the momentum.

Nikolic hit from downtown to make it 83-73 with 2:43 left and Dusan Kecman's free throw with 1:36 meant an 84-77 lead.

But Rancik hit two free throws and Stanislav Votroubek came off the bench to drain a three-pointer - his only shot of the game - to make it 84-82 with a minute left.

Rancik tied it with a jumper with 38 seconds left and stole the ball from Lukovski with 14 seconds remaining to set up Hess's heroics.
