CCC Polkowice has appointed Arkadiusz Rusin as head coach on a permanent basis as they continue their roller-coaster ride during their rookie EuroLeague Women season.
Rusin took the reins at the beginning of last month when Krzysztof Koziorowicz had to resign from his post due to health difficulties immediately after claiming a historic first success in the tournament with a home win against Beretta Famila Schio.
Since stepping into the hot-seat on what was originally a temporary basis, Rusin has a 2-2 record, leading the club to victory against Tarbes Gespe Bigorre and also a stunning and memorable success at reigning champions Halcon Avenida last week - which was their first ever EuroLeague Women road win.
Having been an assistant coach for a number of years in Polkowice and having demonstrated the capacity to attain wins at the elite level during the last six weeks or so, the club will now keep faith with Rusin.
He will be hoping to build on some good work so far and try to get the newcomers out of Group B and into the play-offs.
Nevertheless, it will be a tough assignment for Rusin and his players who will look to spring another big surprise by inflicting a first loss of the season on Fenerbahce, currently the only club in the competition yet to taste defeat.
