Hungarian side DKSK Mikolc had few problems in their opening game of the EuroCup Women, easily defeating competition newcomers BK Siemens Poprad from Slovakia.
Veteran point guard Iveta Bielikova (she will turn 40 next year) opened the scoring for Poprad, but DKSK answered with a 15-0 run which saw them establish a firm grip on proceedings.
By the end of the second quarter DKSK's lead had reached 20 points and there was no way back for the Slovakian challengers.
Angela Delmis top scored for DKSK with 21 points. Center Daliborka Vilipic added 17 points, 9 rebound and 2 blocked shots in the 97-61 win.
