Douglas has been nothing short of sensational since joining Lietuvos Telekomas. In her side’s 70-45 win over Baltiskaya Zwezda, Douglas put up 25 points on 9/11 shooting.
After 3 games, she is number one in the EuroLeague in scoring at 25.7 ppg and has hit 75% of her 2-point field goal attempts.
Douglas has had a good year on the basketball court, helping the Connecticut Sun reach the 2004 WNBA Finals. The Sun lost to the Seattle Storm in 3 games, but Douglas will no doubt be hoping to go one step further in Lithuania.
Lietuvos Telekomas struggled last season in the EuroLeague, posting a 5/9 record in the preliminary round and missing out on the play-offs.
This year, Lietuvos look like a lock for the next round and Douglas could be the difference-maker.
A graduate of Purdue (where she won an NCAA title in 1999), Douglas has played 4 seasons in the WNBA with Orlando and Conneticut. She has also played 2 seasons in Europe, both in Greece with Ano Liosia (2003) and Glyfada last year.
Douglas is writing a diary for conneticutsuns.com, so check out her views and thoughts on Vilnius and the EuroLeague so far here.
