Making his competitive debut for Belgium in a EuroBasket qualifier vs. Hungary in September 2004, Muya is rapidly approaching 100 international appearances after almost a decade as a regular in the team. He also played for the country at Under-20 level. His club career began in earnest with Verviers-Pepinster in 2000, and since then he has also played in the Belgian league for Liege, Oostende and current side Mons-Hainaut. In addition, he has also had as spells in Italy's Lega A with Scafati and Spain's LEB with Palma and Burgos. He underwent foot surgery earlier this summer. Born in Zaire, now the Democratic Republic of Congo, he visited Kinshasa in 2012 with Action Damien project, accompanied by a film crew. Enjoys cinema, music and travel. On Twitter @GMuya.
