FULL ROSTER
Head Coach Gundars Vetra
// 19.12.2007

CSKA Moscow made it seven EuroLeague Women victories out of seven on Wednesday evening with a one-sided mauling of Phard Napoli.

Belgian center Ann Wauters led five CSKA players into double-figure scoring with an 18-point haul, while she also finished with 10 rebounds and an assist.

For Napoli, shooting guard Kedra Holland-Corn poured in a game-high 27 points and also grabbed four rebounds, but it was still nowhere near enough to prevent her side from slipping to their sixth defeat in seven games.

Of CSKA`s six previous victories in Group A, Napoli had actually run the Russian giants the closest in terms of scoreline when, during the previous meeting between the two sides last month, they finished within 14 points of Gundars Vetra`s team, who won 86-72 in Italy.

More than anything though, that shows just how dominant CSKA have been throughout the qualifying round stage, and they were similarly impressive on Wednesday.

An Astou Ndiaye lay-up actually saw Napoli score the first points of the game, but it was pretty much all CSKA after that as they swept into a 26-16 lead by the end of the first period.

The hosts then extended that advantage to 17 points by the end of the opening half at 47-30, and by that stage the game was all but over as a contest barring a dramatic second-half revival by the Italian side.

That was not to happen though, and CSKA could have recorded an even bigger win had they not taken their foot off the pedal late on after moving 87-53 clear in the closing stages.

For the victors, Ilona Korstin added 17 points and three rebounds, Rebecca Lynn Hammon contributed 15 points, Maria Stepanova added 12 points and nine rebounds, and Nicole Powell poured in 11 points.

The only other player to score in double-digits for Napoli was Sara Giauro, who netted 10 points and collected nine rebounds.
