Ann Wauters' 25 points was the difference as CSKA Volgaburmash overcame ZVVZ USK Prague 71-60 in Euroleague Group B.

The win lifts the Russian side to within a point of unbeaten leaders Bourges Basket, while it was the fifth defeat of a sorry campaign so far for second-bottom Prague.

Prague, though, made the better start and were 23-19 ahead at the end of the first quarter, but that only seemed to rile the visitors.

The second quarter was all CSKA, winning it 22-9, to move ahead 41-32 at the halfway stage.

From the moment Amaya Valdemoro, who also had two steals, sank her three pointer to make it 28-27 in the second quarter, CSKA were never headed, but they were less dominant in an even second half.

Wauters, who averages 21 points a game this season, was the game's key performer, but Demya Walker's 17 points, coupled with 10 rebounds, cannot be overlooked in what was ultimately a dominant win on the road.

Michaela Pavlickova's 18 points and nine rebounds was the standout performance for a disappointing home side, although Sviatlana Volnaya's 13 points and two assists also caught the eye.
