A 19-2 first-quarter surge propelled CSKA Volgaburmash to a resounding 75-63 victory at MKB Euroleasing and into the EuroLeague Final Four for the third straight year.

Ann Wauters (CSKA)
Ann Wauters is averaging 23.5 ppg and 9 rpg in the 2 games against Sopron
Winners of the competition two years ago and beaten finalists last season against Gambrinus Sika Brno, Volgaburmash swept MKB 2-0 in the quarter-final tie and are now just two wins away from lifting the title.

Ann Wauters had 24 points and eight rebounds for the Samara team, who had trailed 8-6 before reeling off 19 of the next 21 points in the game to take command for good.

Ilona Korstin's two free throws pulled CSKA level, and Wauters then scored to put the Russians in front for good.

Korstin and Amaya Valdemoro followed with jump shots, and Edwige Lawson scored with a lay-up to take the run to 12-0.

Andrea Balas-Pirine Karolyi stopped the bleeding with a basket for MKB, but a Valdemoro lay-up and two Wauters free throws kept the pressure on for CSKA.

A three-ball and lay-up by Olga Arteshina made it 25-10 for CSKA.

MKB did try to claw their way back and an 11-0 spurt at the start of the second half come them close to 43-36, but lay-ups by Arteshina and Wauters allowed CSKA to open up a 47-36 advantage and the Russia team was on its way to victory once again.

CSKA out-rebounded their hosts 45-30. They also made 24 of 26 (92.3%) free throws.
