Ros Casares Valencia travel to Samara today in good time for their match-up on Wednesday afternoon where they will look to end 2003 on a high note by sealing a 6th victory in the EuroLeague Women against VBM-SGAU.

With this win, Domingo Diaz' side would then be assured of starting 2004 in the coveted top 4 of the Group B classification table, depending on the results of Lotos VBW Clima Gdynia, USVO and JME Gambrinus Brno who are all sitting on the same number of points.

Ros Casares comes to this game following another triumph in the Liga Feminina, maintaining their unbeaten record, and hoping to continue the up-tempo rhythm in order to beat the Russians in their home gym.

The only problem which may slow the Spaniards down is the last minute doubt cast over the availability of new signing Kedra Holland-Corn, who, due to various problems with aeroplane connections in the United States has still not been able to join the squad.

Diaz commented, "winning this game is absolutely necessary because we will then have two tough games at home, and if we keep up our current streak we will have a foot and a half in the next round of the competition."

For their part, Club World Champions Samara have proved a little disappointing, only managing 2 wins out of the 8 games played to date. Last week's game against Group B leader MIZO Pecsi VSK, resulted in a 70-62 win for the Hungarians. This is despite having one of the strongest rosters in the EuroLeague, including international players Stepanova, Vodichkova and Arteshina, alongside WNBA standouts Swin Cash and Marie Ferdinand.
