New TTT Riga signing Karline Nimane admits the chance to be a part of a team that competes in the EuroLeague Women was too good to pass up.
The 19-year-old, who averaged just under 10 minutes per game for a bronze-medal winning Latvia side at this summer's U20 European Championship in Liepaja, will hope to see action against Pécs 2010, Cras Basket Taranto, Good Angels Kosice, Wisla Can-Pack Krakow and USO Mondeville in Europe's elite club competition.
"There were negotiations with several national clubs and the offer of TTT Riga," she said.
"In consultation with my agent, I came to the conclusion that the offer by TTT Riga would be a good step in my career."
Nimane has been in Latvia's youth teams for several years.
Last season, she played for SK Cesis in 10 EuroCup Women games and averaged 5.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in 16.6 minutes per contest.
"I've played in the EuroCup Women and I know that international tournament experience is invaluable, so the important factor will be able to participate in the EuroLeague Women" she said.
