MKB Euroleasing broke open a close game at the start off the second and cruised to a 78-55 victory in Sopron over TTT Riga.

Leading 34-31 late in the first half, the Hungarian hosts had all they could handle against Riga, who boast a very good line-up that includes a couple of Latvian national team players in Ieva Tare andd Zane Eglite.

TTT Riga led by as many as 10 points in the fourth quarter but weren't able to deliver the knockout punch as Fenerbahce claimed a valuable win on the road.

Cappie Pondexter had 23 points and Turkey national team center Nevriye Yilmaz scored 11 while also pulling down nine rebounds as the Turkish giants won 59-55.

TTT Riga dominated European basketball for two decades, winning 18 European Cup for Women's Champion Clubs titles (as Daugawa Riga) between 1960 and 1982, including 12 straight from 1964 to 1975.

The Latvian club, led by Uljana Semjonova, also clinched 21 Soviet titles between 1960 and 1984. But TTT Riga have done little internationally since the 1980s, reaching the 2002 Ronchetti Cup and then appearing in the 2007 EuroCup Women, where the team went 0-6.

ESB Lille Metropole gave their faltering Group A campaign a shot in the arm as they hammered TTT Riga 67-50 to close the gap on the Latvians in the standings.

Geraldine Robert (20 points and nine rebounds) was in fine form for the hosts, who were rarely in danger after building a strong lead early on.

Rebecca Lynn Hammon top scored but Maria Stepanova set the standard for CSKA Moscow as they maintained their 100 percent record in EuroLeague Women Group A with an 87-56 demolition of hosts TTT Riga.

Hammon posted 20 points for the Russians while Stepanova delivered another huge performance with 15 boards as well as 14 points.
