Lavezzini Parma overcame a blistering start from visiting side Szolnok to record their second EuroLeague Women victory of the season and first of 2005.

Hungarian side Szolnok came racing out of the gate in the first quarter, reeling off an 8-0 run and taking firm control of procedings. But Parma quickly recovered their poise to tie the score at 18-18 at the end of the period, and Szolnok were unable to rediscover their fire.

Midway through the second quarter Parma led by 10 points, 35-25 and other than inside players Krisztina Papp and Gina Farmer, Szolnok were struggling. The visitors shot just 37% from the floor and Parma capitalised.

The home team increased the advantage to 12 points at the start of the final quarter and cantered to victory.

Gordana Grubin had a great game for Parma, tallying 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Federica Ciampoli had a season high 21 points and Donnette Snow contributed 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 steals.
