| Irena Borecka
| Career: Zdas Zdar nad Sazavou (Czech Republic-ZBL, 1998-99), Gambrinus Brno (Czech Republic-ZBL, 1999-2002), Trutnov (Czech Republic-ZBL, 2002-05), MBK Ruzomberok (Slovakia-Extraliga, 2005-06), Miscolc (2006-07)
When it comes to experience at the club level, Irena Borecka is one of the most well-travelled players on the Czech team. The Brno native has plied her trade on three different teams in the Czech League, including three seasons with 2006 champions Gambrinus Brno. She has since moved to Slovakia and then to Miscolc in Hungary where she averaged 10 per game last season. Even though she is not the type of player that can decide a game, she has built a reputation as a steady performer and has been a regular for the National Team under coach Bobrovsky since 2001, with the exception of the squad that made it to the FIBA World Championship in Brazil last year. She was the member of the U20 European Championship team that won silver in 2000. | | |
