Spain: Gran Canaria Defeated in Copa Del Rey

Gran Canaria's bid to win some hardware this season took another blow on Thursday when they lost in the Copa del Rey to holders Unicaja Malaga, 74-64.

The Canary Islanders played in the EuroCup this season but bowed out after Round I, and on Thursday they lost to Unicaja, who have been one of the hottest teams in Europe of late.

Spain: Barcelona Takes Down Gran Canaria

Winterthur Barcelona moved to the top of the  Liga ACB on Sunday with an 87-80 win over former FIBA EuroCup participants Gran Canaria.

Taking advantage of TAU Ceramica's surprise 92-78 defeat at Lagun Aro Bilbao Basket, Barcelona are now back on top of the pile ahead of TAU and Pamesa Valencia, although all three clubs boast 12-5 records.

Spain: Gran Canaria Run Out Of Steam; DKV Beat Bilbao

Gran Canaria fell out of the tie for first place in Spain's ACB on Tuesday when they suffered a major collapse in the fourth quarter and lost 78-72 at league giants Unicaja Malaga.

Salvador Maldonado's men, who played in this year's EuroCup but exited after Round I, had stormed to a 41-33 lead at half-time and stretched that to 62-50 by the end of the third quarter.

Spain: Gran Canaria In Third

Former EuroCup side Gran Canaria consolidated their position at the top of the ACB with a win at the weekend. Gran Canaria are in third place behind Tau Cermica and Winterthur Barcelona after a 69-64 win over Forum Valladolid.

Marcus Norris had 23 points and nine rebounds to lead his team to victory.
