Team 2012-13: Chevakata Vologda (Russia-Premier League)
Career: Chevakata Vologda (Russia-Premier League, 2000-2009), UMMC Ekaterinburg (Russia-Premier League, 2009-11), Chevakata Vologda (Russia-Premier League, 2011-13)
Four years after her only major tournament appearance for Russia at EuroBasket Women 2009, the Chevakata combo guard could be set for a return to plug a gap in the backcourt. Volkova has spent the vast majority of her career showcasing her skills with her hometown club in Vologda, playing in the Russian League and almost perennially in EuroCup Women. She first stepped out in European club competition more than a decade ago in the Ronchetti Cup and since then, has impressed with her gutsy approach defensively and the way she has developed into a real leader. Volkova can score in a variation of ways or provide for those around her. Whilst her percentages and three-point numbers have tailed off in the last few years, Volkova has refined her game to be more of an organiser on court, to find more passes and help run plays. She would certainly be a useful back-up point guard and even now remains one of the most under-estimated players in the Russian League.
