Mizo Pecs' Albena Branzova picks up MVP honours in the first week of the EuroLeague Women, although it was a close contest with Lietuvos Telekomas's Irena Baranauskaite.

Branzova, a 193 cm Bulgarian center, was the key player in Pecs' sensational 70:60 away win over FIBA World Cup Champions VBM-SGAU Samara.

Branzova racked up 29 points in the victory, making 10 shots from the field and all 3 of her 3-point attempts in the win. She also added 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

Samara proved to be on top form in the preseason, winning the prestigous FIBA World Cup for Women's Clubs in their home town. Pecs, however, did not seem intimidated and the win is a huge boost for them at the start of the season.

Lietuvos Telekomas' Irena Baranauskaite was another sensational performer this week, as her side pulled off the other upset of the week, beating French giants Valenciennes.
