Lubos Barton made five three-pointers and scored 19 points to lead DKV Joventut to a decisive win over BC Khimki at Badalona and into the quarter-finals of the EuroCup as winners of Group L.

The visitors from Russia still advanced to the last eight, however.

The two clubs finished with with four wins and two victories, just as Azovmash did after their win at Privatbank EKA AEL Lemesos.

But the goal differential in the games between all three 4-2 sides was the tie-breaker used to determine the final standings, and Khimki's was superior to that of Azovmash.

DKV are an extremely good team and have the look of a side which can win this title, especially as players like big man Robert Archibald return to fitness after being slowed by injuries.

Archibald, who played in the NBA and spent last season with Scavolini Pesaro in Italy, had 13 points and 10 rebounds in one of his best performances for DKV.

It was his fellow Briton, center Andy Betts, who gave DKV the lead for good at 16-14 late in the first quarter.

Rudy Fernandez, who got his third assist on that basket, then hit a three-pointer for DKV for a 19-14 advantage at the end of the opening period.

Melvin Booker buried a three for Khimki and after two Betts' free throws, Boris Gorenc made a lay-up as Khimki closed to within 21-19.

DKV then went on a 13-0 run and were in complete command for the rest of the contest.

Elmer Bennett's three-point play started the surge and Betts finished it with a lay-up as DKV led 34-19 with 6:01 left in the first half.

Khimki pulled to within 34-24, but Alex Mumbru hit a three-pointer and DKV's lead was 13.

Oscar Torres lost his cool at the end of the first half and was hit with a technical. Fransisco Vazquez made the technical free throws for a 49-35 lead and DKV marched to victory.

Barton, a Czech Republic international, finished five of seven from three-point range, but a statistic that will make Spanish coach Aito Reneses very happy was his club's 39-24 supremacy on the boards.
