BC Khimki won a place in the Final Four of the EuroCup on Wednesday, ending the dream season of Dexia Mons-Hainaut.

The Belgian club had surprised everyone with their run in the competition but in the end could not prevent the Russians from securing a 94-78 win in the decider.

Khimki twice built leads of 19 points but the battling Belgians fought back to pull within five points at 74-69 with five minutes to go when James Potter made a jump shot.

At that point the Dexia bench started to get excited but Boris Gorenc's three-pointer settled Russian nerves.

Igor Milicic then reduced the deficit to five again at 79-74 with a three-pointer but Argentinian Ruben Wolkowisky with 04:19 to go responded with a jumper.

Two three-pointers from Alexander Petrenko eventually ended the hopes of the Belgians.

Milicic, with 21 points, four rebounds and three assists, was heroic in defeat for Dexia with Potter (16), Matthias Desaever (13), Vladimir Tica (12) and George Evans (10) all posting double digits.

Gorenc's 18 points paced Khimki although Petrenko with seven boards to add to his 12 points and Melvin Booker (17), Wolkowisky (10) and Oscar Torres (10) also impressed.

Khimki had won game one 91-75 only for Dexia to hit back, taking the second 79-73.

Next up for Khimki is a date with Dynamo St Petersburg who are the reigning FIBA Europe League champions.
