Janar Talts hit an important three-pointer late in the game to propel Tartu Rock to an 87-83 victory over Base Oostende in Estonia.
Talts struck with 1:07 remaining to give Rock an 84-81 lead and both Veselin Petrovic and Lionel Bosco missed shots for the Belgian opponents on their next possession.
Estonia international Tanel Tein followed with two free throws for an 86-81 Tartu Rock lead and Base Oostende saw their faint hopes of victory disappear when they got the ball back as Devin Green turned the ball over.
Oostende lost despite hitting nine of their 17 (52.9%) attempts from three-point range.
Tartu, one of the EuroCup Final Four teams last season, hit nine of 23 (39.1%).
Tartu Rock won the rebounding battle 34-26.
Green finished with 18 points for Oostende.
George Tsintsadze, Talts and Marek Doronin scored 17 points apiece for Tartu.
