Wisla Can-Pack Krakow couldn't score over the last six minutes of the second half but they did enough in overtime to win the opening game of their EuroLeague Women Eighth-final tie against Nadezhda.

The visitors from Orenburg, Russia, scored 12 unanswered points at the end of regulation to force the extra period but lost 75-70.

Nadezhda, who nearly upset UMMC Ekaterinburg in the Russian Cup final on Friday, got 24 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, four blocks and three steals from Team USA star Tina Charles but it wasn't enough.

The game hung in the balance when Poland international and Wisla captain Ewelina Kobryn drilled a jumper with 2:23 to go in overtime to put the Poles on top for good.

Erin Phillips made one of two at the line and then a Yelena Leuchanka three-point play gave Wisla a 74-68 lead.

Her fellow Belarus international Anastasiya Verameyenka answered immediately with a jump shot to make it 74-70 but Wisla's Nicole Powell, who had 16 points, added another free-throw for the 75-70 victory.

Powell finished three of six from the arc and also grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.

Phillips had a team-high 18 points and Kobryn added 16 with seven boards.

Verameyenka also contributed 10 points and eight boards for Nadezhda.

Russia international Becky Hammon played just 2:17 early on before coming out of the game.
