Wisla Can Pack playmaker Erin Phillips has admitted the overtime win in the first game against Nadezhda has taken the pressure of the Krakow club who are bidding once again to reach Final Four.

Speaking to the official club website after finishing with a game high 18 points in a physical 75-70 success, the Australian guard was preparing herself for a gruelling trip to Russia today in preparation for the second game in the series tomorrow.

"I feel we won an ultimate fighting match. I still feel a little bit beaten up. That's all part of the game. I played physical, I dived on the floor a lot and so I expected it. We are now looking forward to this next match."

"To win the first game it takes a lot of pressure off as well. We just have to give our best in Orenburg and hope for the best."

"It can be a nightmare to get to Orenburg and we've got four flights. I think I will have to see the whole of Europe before I get there! That's a part of it and you have to handle this."

"Life of a basketball player is definitely not easy. It seems very easy and glamorous, but there is a lot of hard work and pain involved."

"It's always nice to win a game in the normal time, but sometimes you have to do it in the harder way, in overtime."

"It's really good for our confidence that we could win a game like this in overtime. It just shows our fitness and our mental strength."

Phillips also didn't mind too much that her careful preparation to deal with the skills of Becky Hammon were left pretty much wasted after the Nadezhda star managed less than three minutes.

"We'd been talking a lot about Tina Charles and Becky Hammon in our game plans.

"I know Becky and when she went out, I said - come on, I'd been watching too much video of you!"

"But I wasn't too disappointed she wasn't out there, because she's such a great player."

While it will certainly be tough against a Nadezhda side who are strong at home, it could just the in-form Phillips who helps the Polish club wrap up their place in the last eight without the need for a third deciding game.
