Miller Time As USVO Turn Back Determined Krakow

Wisla Can-Pack Krakow suffered an agonising 57-55 home defeat to US Valenciennes on Wednesday in EuroLeague Women Group C.

Jelena Skerovic's three-pointer with 2:09 left gave the hosts a 55-54 lead but with the Polish team's third win in sight, USVO's Kelly Miller struck to spoil the party.

Miller, having missed her first three attempts from beyond the arc, finally got one to go down to reclaim the lead for the French team.

Anna De Forge had two chances to put Wisla back in front but failed.

After she missed an attempt from behind the arc, Miller also was off target with a long one just 14 seconds from the end.

Instead of going down low, De Forge again launched a shot from the three-point line and missed again.

The victory keeps USVO at the top of the standings with seven wins from eight games.

Sonja Kireta paced the attack with 15 points, and Sandra Le Dréan weighed in with 10.

De Forge also had 15 points in defeat for Wisla, who are now 2-6.

USVO won, despite being out-rebounded 39-29.

They also survived after blowing a big lead early in the game.

USVO stormed out to a 19-4 advantage in the first six minutes of the first quarter with Australian international guard Kristi Harrower scoring seven of her nine points in the game.

De Forge's jump shot with 6:22 left in the first half tied the contest at 22-22, and the game was tight the rest of the way.
