Besiktas' Ratko Varda picks up this week's FIBA Europe Leage MVP award. The Serb & Montenegrin center has been the top big man in the competition this season, and against Ionikos this week was in dominant form.

Varda's 37-point, 12-rebound haul was the key performance in Besiktas's 73-83 road win and capped what has been a great year so far for the 25-year old 213 cm man.

The Istanbul based side have had a great start to the FIBA Europe League and are currently 4-1 and second in Group B.

Varda is in his first year with Besiktas, having joined the team from Greek outfit Apollon Patras. He earned his stripes at Partizan Belgrade and spent 7 years with the club before spending time in the NBA with Detroit and Washington.

In 2003 Varda joined Slovenian side Olimpija Ljlubljana before his 1 season with Apollon. He is averaging 25.6 ppg (2nd in the competition) and 8 rpg in the FIBA Europe League this year.
