Career: Yambolgas Yambol (Bulgaria-Pro A, 1997-2002), Aris Thessaloniki (Greece-ESAKE, 2002-03), CSKA Sofia (Bulgaria-Pro A, 2003-05). Has just signed with BC Kyiv (Ukraine-Superleague).
Nicknamed the "Bulgarian Kukoc", Angelov is one of Bulgaria's top performers. A versatile perimeter player who can also provide help in the paint, he had a superb season in the FIBA Europe League, averaging 14.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game with CSKA Sofia. He participated in the FIBA Europe All-Star Day, held in Cyprus in April. In the domestic competition, he averaged 15.7 points per game, and helped his side win the Cup of Bulgaria against Academic, scoring 25 points. He was named MVP of the game. A winner of the FIBA Champions Cup with Aris Thessaloniki in 2003, he will play in Ukraine next season, as he signed a three-year contract with BC Kyiv.
