It might seem like the whole point of the EuroChallenge quarter-final play-offs was to determine the teams that would battle it out in the Final Four, but they also served a much higher purpose this time.

Namely, they helped a basketball player put metronomes and atomic clocks the world over to shame, in the space of just a week.

On Tuesday night, William Thomas of Pinar Karsiyaka added a third excellent performance during the final game of his team's play-off series with Paris Levallois, which saw the Turkish side prevail 85-69 and punch their ticket to the Final Four.

He registered an efficiency index rating of 29, just like in Game 1 of the series; and in Game 2, for that matter.

The American power forward came up with three almost identical displays in consecutive games and is the undisputed MVP of the EuroChallenge Quarter-Finals, with an average rating of, you guessed it, 29.

Thomas was obviously also the highest-rated Karsiyaka player at this stage of the competition, with fellow big man Abdul Aminu in second, with an average rating of 17.7 over the three games of the series.

The second most highly-rated player across all four EuroChallenge play-offs series was a point guard.

Dwight Buycks only played in two games, as BCM Gravelines Dunkerque swept their series with Joensuun Kataja and his performances situate him extremely close to Mr Precision himself, Thomas.

The BCM leader was rated with 27 in the first game in France and 28 in the second game that went into overtime, in Finland (27.5 play-off average).

Buycks was an accumulated 16-for-23 from two-point range and 9-for-17 from behind the three-point arc, scoring an average of 24 points over the two games, while he also dished out an impressive 6.5 assists per encounter.

Krasnye Krylia also only needed two play-off games to overcome the resistance of Telekom Baskets Bonn and secure a spot in the Final Four, and Chester Simmons was their highest-rated player with a rating of 18 in the first game and 26 in the second (22 on average).

The winger averaged a nice round 20 points on an accumulated 12-for-25 shooting from the floor (quite impressively though, 6-for-11 from three-point range) and added 5.5 rebounds and four assists per game.

As for EWE Baskets Oldenburg, who just like Karsiyaka needed to go through three play-off clashes to secure their participation in the Final Four, their highest-rated player was Julius Jenkins, with an average rating of 15.7 over the series, while Adam Chubb was a close second with 14.

Jenkins had a great showing in both of Oldenburg's home games, but his discreet performance (efficiency rating of 5) in Game 2 in Ukraine, which his team lost 66-61, cost him a higher rating.

The German team as a whole though performed so fantastically on Tuesday night, that their 100-78 win was the only game of the 10 encounters that took place in the play-offs stage where three players on the same team registered an efficiency rating higher than 20.

The Oldenburg guard reached a rating of 22 on Tuesday, while his team-mates Rickey Paulding and Chubb were both rated with 29 and, together with Thomas of course, earned EuroChallenge quarter-final play-offs Game 3 MVP honours.
