Veteran Jovo Stanojevic once again was a tower of strength for Pinar Karsiyaka with 20 points

Pinar Karsiyaka moved closer to the next stage of the EuroChallenge with a 79-70 win at BC "Minsk-2006" on Tuesday night.

Goran Ikonic had 21 points and Jovo Stanojevic 20 for the Turkish club, which improved to 3-2 in Group G.

All four sides in the pool - Karsiyaka, Minsk, Türk Telekom and Telekom Baskets Bonn - went into the penultimate week of the Regular Season with two wins and two defeats.

Karsiyaka will finish Group G play next week at Bonn.

BC "Minsk-2006" had a 36-33 lead late in the first half against Karsiyaka but weren't able to press home the advantage.

Engin Bayav's lay-up reduced the arrears to one and then Mire Chatman's three-ball put the visitors in front 38-36 at half-time.

The run continued in the third quarter when Ilkan Karaman reeled off five straight points at the start.

He connected from behind the arc and followed with a lay-up before a basket by Ayhan Kentli stretched the lead to 45-36 and forced Minsk to take a timeout.

Karsiyaka ended up outscoring the hosts 25-16 in the frame and Minsk, who lost for the third time in succession, got no closer than five points in the last quarter.

Chatman had 15 points and nine rebounds and Karaman 13 points with seven boards.

Aliaksei Trastsinetski led Minsk with 16 points.

Karsiyaka held Aliaksandr Kudrautsau to just 11 points on four of 11 shooting.
