"Of course tonight we're very satisfied with the result, but my colleagues and I are more satisfied with our team," said Pesic whose men conceded only two points in the second quarter.
"We had a great defense tonight, they gave a perfect example. We've played at a high level in all the games in this cup.
"Our ambition is to do well in Europe and show that we have a good team here."
Player German Gabriel said: "It was a great game and our fans have been great tonight and I think they helped us to overcome this round and make that final step to the finals."
Panionios coach Luca Pavicevic was magnanimous in defeat but was pleased with his team's general performance in this season's competition.
"I would like to congratulate Girona and especially my old coach Svetislav Pesic who once again is doing a great job," he said.
"We didn't have the mental strength today to cope, and we weren't as strong as in the other games. But we came within one game of the Final Four and for this Panionios can be proud."
Panionios player Andre Hutson said: "We played against a top side over these three games yet we came within one win of making the finals. I think for this reason we can hold our heads up high and be proud."
Azovmash will take on Virtus Bologna in the other last four clash.
