Akasvayu Girona limited Panionios to just two points in the second quarter and then delivered a third-quarter knockout punch to reach the EuroCup Final Four.

Beaten for the first time in the EuroCup this season in Game Two at Panionios, Svetislav Pesic's team struck back with a vengeance and prevailed 83-49.

The outcome puts Akasvayu into a semi-final showdown with fellow Spanish side Estudiantes, while Azovmash will take on Virtus Bologna in the other last four clash.

No one could have expected the Spanish club to have won so convincingly after a very close first two contests.

And with 9:35 to go in the first half and Panionios leading 22-20, another hard game looked to be on the cards.

But Fernando San Emeterio and Ariel McDonald combined to score 11 of Akasvayu's 15 points to close out the quarter as the hosts took a 35-22 lead.

With Panionios struggling to stay in the contest at the start of the third, Akasvayu turned up the pressure and went on an 11-0 run to all but seal victory.

Dainius Salenga's lay-up started the surge, and Gregor Fucka's back-to-back jumpers finished it offfor a 48-25 lead.

Marko Marinovic, who buried a three-ball in that run, and San Emeterio finished with 11 points apiece to lead a balanced Akasvayu scoring attack.

Damir Miljkovic and Andre Hutson each had 10 points apiece for the team from Athens, who must now focus all of their attention on reaching the Greek play-offs.

Akasvayu dominated the boards in this game, winning that battle 33-16.

They also shot much better, 24 of 37 (64.9%) inside the arc and a very impressive seven of 17 (41.2%) from three-point range.

Panionios were a mere 45.8% (11 of 24) from two-point range and three of 15 (20%) from behind the arc.
