Marko Marinovic

Career: Borac Cacak (Serbia & Montenegro-YUBA League, 2000-04), FMP Zeleznik (Serbia-Superleague 2004-06), Akasvayu Girona (Spain-Liga ACB 2006-07)

Marko Marinovic might be the smallest player on the Serbian National Team. But make no mistake the combo guard from Cacak – a small town in Serbia reputed for giving birth to great shooters – is a genuine menace on the offensive end of the court. The 24-year-old has made a name for himself in the jersey of FMP Zeleznik and did so in remarkable fashion. After suffering a career-threatening hip injury in a car accident in 2004, he miraculously came back after a one year break to become one of the best players in the Adriatic League. This fearless competitor and leader can play both guard positions and is a dead-eye shooter from downtown. Marinovic was rewarded for his qualities with a contract from Akasvayu Girona. He played a key role in the Spanish side’s run to the EuroCup title.
