Fernando San Emeterio didn't just provide a scoring spark for Akasvayu Girona on Wednesday night.

No, he provided a three-point explosion in a 117-83 triumph over Dijon.

I can dream of scoring 39 points but not to make 10 three-pointers.

The 23-year-old marksman buried 10 consecutive three-balls before missing his last attempt with just 16 seconds remaining in the game.

"I felt like Kobe Bryant, it has been spectacular," he said.

"I didn't expect to do something like that. I can dream of scoring 39 points but not to make 10 three-pointers."

It wasn't just the three-pointers, either.

San Emeterio made the two shots he took inside the arc, and also sank all five of his free throws.

For a player whose previous high had been 17 points in the first round of the EuroCup against BC Siauliai, the scoring burst was most unexpected.

"It was one of those days where everything went in," he said.

"You don't realise how, but they were going in and you don't believe it until you see that you have made 10 of 10.

"It's a strange situation but it's what every player wants to do at some point in their career although you never believe it will arrive."

"I scored four of my 10 three-pointers in the first half and I felt really good, so I continued to shoot."

The display came at the right time for Girona, who were coming off a disappointing overtime defeat in the first round of the Copa del Rey against DKV Joventut - last year's EuroCup champions.

"I feel really comfortable in this team," San Emeterio said.

"I am playing really well and there's a great atmosphere in the group.

"We are a very strong group and each day, one player stands out but the important thing is that the group continues to do well."
