Royals Finish Strong And Advance

Saarlouis Royals turned back a battling USO Mondeville on Thursday night and prevailed 67-59 to reach the EuroCup Women Semi-Finals.

Romy Bär led the way with 14 points and 10 rebounds as the German club followed up its 66-63 first-leg triumph with a +11 win in the Quarter-Final tie.

Turnover-Prone Mondeville Lose Opener At Saarlouis
Saarlouis Royals claimed a narrow victory at home over USO Mondeville in the first leg of their EuroCup Women Quarter-Final.

The German club prevailed 66-63 on Wednesday night with Czech Republic international Petra Manakova scoring a game-high 18 points.

22 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals were good enough to earn Temeka Johnson the EuroCup Women Players of the Week Award.

Even more importantly for Johnson and her teammates was the 16 point victory over Botas Spor on Thursday that accompanied her big night. It capped a 153-146 aggregate win that sent them on to the Quarter-Finals where they will face Saarlouis Royals.
