Career: BK Ventspils (Latvia-LBL, 1994-2003), Galatasaray Istanbul (Turkey-D1, 2003-04), Ural Great Perm (Russia-Superleague, 2004), Dynamo Moscow Region (Russia-Superleague, 2004-05).
Since the great days of the wonderful passer, Raimonds Miglinieks, Latvia have been looking for a point-guard able to distribute the ball to their fantastic group of shooters. Can Buskevics be the one? With the national team, this lightning quick guard never really managed to take on a leadership role... That changed last September when he finished as the best passer of the qualifying round for his squad... After establishing himself as an All-Star in the LBL, Buskevics took his speed to Turkey and Russia. He made a smooth transition to the Superleague with Ural Great Perm, semi-finalist of the league in 2004... This year, he shared playing time with American point-guard Stevin Smith but provided instant offense for Dynamo Moscow Region : 8.7 points in 22 minutes.
