Marque Perry and Banvit put together an incredible performance over the final nine minutes to shock Lokomotiv Rostov 80-67 on Tuesday for their second win in three EuroCup contests.
Rostov entered the game with victories in their opening two games and a third looked to be on the way when Evangelos Sklavos nailed a three-pointer at the start of the fourth quarter to give the visitors a 58-48 advantage.
But Perry, who scored a game-high 28 points and dished out five assists, replied with a three-point play after being fouled by Kresimir Loncar and that sparked a 13-0 run.
During that spurt, Bekir Yarangume nailed two three-balls and Perry added another jump shot.
The team from Russia finally scored when Loncar split two free throws to cut Banvit's lead to 61-59, but Perry added another three-point play to take the lead to five.
Banvit had the wind in their sails and outscored Rostov 16-8 the rest of the way.
Rostov hurt their cause at the free throw line, making just 15 of 26 (57.7%) while Banvit were a far more impressive 14 of 18 (77.8%).
The hosts were 24 of 39 (61.5%) inside the arc, and six of 22 (27.3%) beyond it.
Rostov made 14 of 24 (58.3%) from two-point range, and eight of 22 (36.4%) from three-point land.
The outcome leaves Banvit, Azovmash and Rostov with 2-1 records in Group C, while Atomerömü SE are 0-3.
