Carichieti completed a "season sweep" over Ruzomberok with a home win in an 86-85 thriller. The first game between the 2 teams was also a close affair in which Carichieti stole a 2-point away victory.
This time around Angela Zampella was the home team hero as her basket lifted Carichieti to victory.
Ruzomberok was the stronger side from the tip-off and although the 1st quarter finished tied, 23:23, the Slovak side surged ahead in the 2nd.
Ruzomberok's lead reached as much as 8 points (32:40), but Carichieti stayed in the game thanks to good free throw shooting and a great offensive display from Bridget Pettis (33 points).
The third quarter belonged to the home squad. They quickly tied the score at 47:47 and moved into the lead. A 3-pointer from Zampella increased their advantage to 12 points, 63:51.
Ruzomberok seemed out of the game, but they dug deep to stage a 4th quarter comeback. With 50 seconds to go the scored was tied, and a free throw from Ruzomberok gave them a 1-point lead, 84:85, and 22 seconds on the clock.
Although the momentum was now firmly on the side of the visitors, Carichieti stayed calm and Zampella's clutch shot gave them the win, their 2nd of this EuroLeague Women campaign.
