MVP Gordana Kovacevic goes strong to the hoop

Euroleasing Orsi won against CariChieti and with this result takes another step towards possible qualification. It was an easy victory for the Hungarian team, which already started from the 1st quarter. The visiting players were ready to profit by the great number of mistakes made by the home team.

The first basket of the game was scored by CariChieti's David after 1’50” and both the teams had difficulty in shooting, expecially the Hungarians who managed to score their first points with a shot from Bielkova after 3 minutes. After 6-0 in the first minutes for CariChieti, Sopron quickly caught up and moved ahead and began to increase their advantage more and more, closing the first quarter at 8-26.

In the 2nd period the situation did not change and the game seemed already decided in favour of the Hungarians; they led with 13-33 at 5’26”. Too often the home players allowed their opponents to take open shots. Only in the last minutes of the period were CariChieti able to reduce their disadvantage any. The score was 29-40 at the end of the half.

In the 3rd quarter the score still remained low, 31-46 at 5’52”. Carichieti made many mistakes while the visiting team were able to keep a good lead and never appeared at risk. Tze period ended with a 21 point difference (41-62).

The 4th quarter saw surrender from Carichieti and the Hungarians, already sure of the victory, still still managed to increase the difference in the score.
